My name is Larina Faragó. In 2013, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the cerebellum. Unfortunately, I had to undergo surgery. In 2019, the tumor returned, and I underwent another operation. The tumor could not be completely removed.
Due to the removal of a significant amount of brain tissue, the areas responsible for movement, balance, and speech were severely affected. After the surgery, the left side of my body became paralyzed, and I had to use a wheelchair. I was told that I would never be able to stand or walk again.
But I never gave up.
Thanks to years of persistent rehabilitation—including four years of robotic therapy at STEPS Budapest Center for Robotic Rehabilitation—the hard work has paid off. I was able to stand up from my wheelchair, and today I am able to walk with assistance.
I successfully graduated from high school and became a childcare professional.
Painting was initially part of my rehabilitation, but over time it has become an important part of my life. Through my paintings, I want to show that even in the face of difficulties, it is worth believing in our dreams and that we should never give up.
One of my biggest dreams is to be able to compete in dance competitions again, which is why I continue to work hard and fight for my goal.
